An open letter to the U.S. Congress

No imprisonment without due process

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The United States cannot continue imprisoning migrants without due process of law. The constitutional right to due process applies to all persons within the jurisdiction, not just citizens. Depriving individuals of their liberty through arbitrary detention is a violation of fundamental human rights and undermines the very principles of justice and rule of law that our nation was founded upon. We must treat migrants with dignity, affording them fair hearings and legal representation. Imprisonment should never be a default response to immigration issues. I urge you to take immediate action to end these unconstitutional detentions and uphold the civil liberties enshrined in our founding documents.
