I am writing to demand that no taxpayer dollars be wasted on a military parade for President Trump’s birthday. This is an outrageous misuse of public funds at a time when millions of Americans—especially veterans—are being told we “can’t afford” basic healthcare and support.
The hypocrisy is staggering:
- The president and his allies claim we lack the resources to fully fund veterans’ healthcare, leaving countless heroes struggling to access timely medical care, mental health services, and disability benefits.
- Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s reckless mass layoffs at the VA gutted tens of thousands of jobs, including many veterans who rely on VA assistance, peer support, and critical healthcare information. These firings made it even harder for veterans to navigate an already-broken system.
- And now, instead of addressing this crisis, the government is considering blowing millions on a glorified birthday party for a man who golfed on taxpayers’ dime 21 out of his first 77 days in office.
Military parades don’t honor veterans—they exploit them as political props. If this administration truly cared about service members, it would:
- Fully fund the VA to eliminate waitlists and expand care.
- Invest in veteran housing and job programs.
- Stop subsidizing Trump’s lavish lifestyle and focus on Americans who actually need help.
Spending a single cent on this parade while veterans are denied care isn’t just wasteful—it’s morally bankrupt. I urge you to publicly oppose this stunt and demand our taxes serve the people, not a billionaire’s ego.
