We must address climate change in the BBB The bill passed by the House earmarked $555 billion for renewable energy and clean transportation incentives over a decade: the country's largest climate change investment ever. The policies are crritial to cut GHGs by 50% by 2030. The cost of the climate provisions is minuscule compared to the cost of inaction. In just the last few weeks we have seen December wildfires in Colorado and destructive tornadoes in Kentucky. The lives lost, property damaged, and cost will only get worse with delay and inaction. A 2020 Pew research poll showed that 67% of Americans felt the federal government isn’t doing enough to protect against climate change. This is not a controversial issue. Put people and the planet over profit and include all climate provisions in the Build Back Better bill.
