We need a maximum wage. Company income comes from workers labor, but workers have no say in how that money is distributed. As a result the people doing the least labor are bringing home obscene income while workers starve. The highest paid person in a company, including profits, should not make more than 10 times that of the lowest paid worker. If they can afford to give the CEO millions of dollars, they can afford to pay more than minimum wage first.
Maximum wages raise worker incomes without adding financial stress to companies. It allows workers to take home more if what they already earned. We should tax the rich, but we should also curb their exploitation of workers too. People shouldn't have to fight companies just to earn a decent wage.
