Denying individuals the ability to obtain accurate identification that aligns with their gender identity perpetuates discrimination and marginalization. Trans erasure bills like HB2438 that mandate gender markers based solely on sex assigned at birth or impose burdensome requirements like surgery disregard the fundamental human rights and dignity of transgender and non-binary people.
