An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Speak against Russian abuses!

14 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am writing to demand that Congress publicly and forcefully call out this Administration’s failure to uphold America’s commitments to Ukraine. The United States made promises—clear, deliberate promises—to support Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and right to exist free from foreign aggression. Those promises were not symbolic. They were strategic, moral, and binding on our credibility as a nation. When the United States gives its word, it is supposed to mean something. Russia launched an unprovoked, illegal invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine did not start this war. Ukraine did not threaten the United States. Ukraine trusted international assurances and chose cooperation over escalation. Now, as it fights for its survival, this Administration is failing to deliver the level of support required—and failing to lead. Congress cannot stay silent while executive inaction, delay, or half-measures undermine Ukraine and embolden authoritarian aggression worldwide. Every hesitation sends a message—to Russia, to our allies, and to every country that relies on U.S. commitments—that American promises are conditional, fragile, and politically disposable. That is unacceptable. Supporting Ukraine is not charity. It is a defense of international law, democratic values, and U.S. national security interests. Allowing Russia to succeed through attrition or neglect rewards aggression and guarantees more conflict—not less. Congress has a constitutional duty to provide oversight and to act when the Executive Branch fails. That duty includes: • Publicly calling out the Administration’s failure to meet U.S. commitments to Ukraine • Demanding transparency and urgency in military, economic, and diplomatic support • Making clear that the United States will not abandon a nation it promised to stand beside Silence is complicity. Delay is a decision. And history will record who stood up—and who looked away—when democracy was under attack. Congress must act. Congress must speak. Congress must hold this Administration accountable for failing to honor America’s word. Ukraine is fighting for its future. The United States is fighting for its credibility. Do your job.
