Protect Medicare telehealth. It's cost efficient and highly effective

I’m asking you to take action to protect Medicare coverage for telehealth services. Telehealth is a cost-effective, common-sense solution that increases access to care while saving taxpayers money. It allows seniors, rural residents, and people with disabilities to get the care they need without unnecessary ER visits or hospitalizations—reducing overall healthcare spending.
The numbers back this up. A study in the American Journal of Managed Care found that telehealth saves an average of $200 per visit, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reported that it reduced hospital admissions by 38% for chronic disease patients. It also helps rural hospitals keep patients local instead of losing them to larger urban facilities.
Despite these benefits, Medicare is already cutting telehealth services, including eliminating coverage for cardiac and pulmonary rehab. This forces vulnerable patients back into in-person care they may not be able to access or afford, which will only driv e up taxpayer costs when preventable conditions worsen. If Medicare keeps scaling back, private insurers are likely to follow, making it even harder for millions to get the care they need.
We should be making it easier for people to get care, not harder. Telehealth is an innovation that works—it saves money, improves access, and helps keep people healthier. I urge you to support legislation that ensures permanent Medicare coverage for telehealth. This is about fiscal responsibility and giving people more control over their healthcare.
