EXTRA EXTRA JOHN CORNYN SAYS NERTS TO STATES’ RIGHTS

According to Texas Tribune reporting today, my Texas Sen. John Cornyn said that the FBI had agreed to help state officials locate the group of Texas House Democrats who fled the state to prevent a power grab by Republicans. More BS theater in support in his next political campaign. The Dems have held several public press conferences and are not keeping their whereabouts a secret. But Cornyn believes pulling the feds into the battle between Texas Republicans, who want to pass new congressional maps to grow their power in the US House, and state Democrats fighting to stop them is a winning tough guy strategy. Ha ha ha. Cornyn said only that the FBI would assist in locating members, not apprehending them.  Have you tried just calling the fugitives on their cell phones? It might cost the American taxpayer less. The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment and has not independently confirmed Cornyn’s claim so who knows what the real story might be. But the best line yet is this one… “We cannot allow these rogue legislators to avoid their constitutional responsibilities,” Cornyn said in a statement. And further, his letter to the FBI also said he believed the Democrats were potentially violating the law and may be guilty of bribery or public corruption offenses.  The depth of self-awareness in word and action is seriously unbelievable.
