Stop Using Taxpayer Money to Fund Trump's Campaign Ads

Taxpayer money is being used to air what are plainly campaign ads for Donald Trump, and you need to act to stop it. Two ads — one warning of a "final battle" for America and another titled "America Will Never Be a Communist Country" — aired during NFL games on September 27, both stamped "paid for by the U.S. government." The second ad is nearly identical to a video Trump posted on Truth Social in January 2024 while actively running for president. The White House claims these are public service announcements, not campaign ads. That argument doesn't hold up. Ads featuring apocalyptic rhetoric about "casting out communists" and "liberating America from villains," airing five weeks before midterm elections, are political by any honest definition. Federal law prohibits using appropriated funds for campaign purposes. I want to know what you are doing to investigate this spending and whether you will demand an accounting of how much public money has been spent on these broadcasts.
