The rapid and haphazard dismantling of public agencies without transparency or sound reason is a travesty. By decimating critical agencies like NOAA, and mass firings of the scientists and public servants that protect and restore our communities, this administration is demonstrating a complete disregard for public safety and environmental health. We also know this is just the beginning of the intentional undermining of environmental protections and climate science. While NOAA is being eviscerated, we know that the EPA, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Clean Water Act and possibly the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative are next on the target list. Do not sit idly by and helplessly watch this happen - citizens from all over the country are speaking up, and now is the time for our voices to be heard. NOAA plays a huge role in Great Lakes protection and restoration, lake health monitoring, forecasting, habitat restoration and climate science. Please speak up to protect this critical institution!
