Investigate the Use of Taxpayer Funds for Trump’s Commercial

I am demanding that Congress immediately investigate whether taxpayer dollars were improperly used to produce and broadcast President Trump’s latest television advertisements.
This is not a minor bookkeeping question. The advertisements reportedly carry the disclosure “Paid for by the U.S. Government,” and one recent 30-second spot prominently features President Trump, his political rhetoric, and claims about his administration. Reports indicate that hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars may already have been spent airing these advertisements.
Federal appropriations laws have long restricted the use of taxpayer funds for unauthorized government “publicity or propaganda.” Whether these advertisements comply with those restrictions must be determined through a transparent, independent investigation—not dismissed as a “public service announcement” by the very administration whose spending is being questioned.
I am demanding that Congress:
-Immediately investigate which federal agency authorized, produced, and paid for these advertisements.
-Obtain and publicly release the contracts, invoices, production costs, media-buy records, and all other expenditures associated with them.
-Determine exactly how much taxpayer money has been spent—and how much more is obligated.
-Request a formal review by the Government Accountability Office and appropriate Inspectors General to determine whether federal law or appropriations restrictions were violated.
-Immediately halt any further taxpayer-funded advertising found to be political, partisan, or otherwise unauthorized.
-Hold accountable any federal officials who knowingly authorized unlawful spending.
Americans are struggling with hunger, unaffordable healthcare, crumbling roads and infrastructure, and enormous demands on our military and service members. Taxpayer dollars belong to the American people—not to any president’s personal image or political messaging.
Congress controls the purse. Exercise that constitutional responsibility.
Investigate the spending. Follow the money. Release the facts. If taxpayer funds were improperly used for political propaganda, hold those responsible accountable.
I expect a written response explaining what specific action your office will take.
