If You Wouldn’t Give Mary SNAP, You’re Not Pro-Life—You’re Pro-Control

If you vote to deny food to a child because their parent isn’t married, you’re not defending “biblical values”—you’re defying everything Christ stood for.
Let’s be clear: Mary was unmarried when she conceived Jesus. Joseph was not His biological father—he was a stepfather. That’s the Holy Family. By your rules, they’d be kicked off SNAP.
Scripture is filled with commands to protect the vulnerable—not punish them.
“Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless… If they cry out, I will hear them.” (Exodus 22:22–23)
“Woe to you… you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry.” (Luke 11:46)
The Hebrew word for widow is אַלְמָנָה (almānāh). It meant any woman without protection—abandoned, divorced, unmarried. These are the people God commands us to defend—not test for moral status.
And what does the New Testament say about unmarried people?
“To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am.” (1 Corinthians 7:8)
Paul not only respected singleness—he endorsed it. Your bill disrespects what God’s Word upholds.
You want to cut food assistance for single moms and their kids while preserving luxury tax breaks and corporate loopholes?
That’s not righteousness. That’s a brood of vipers. (Matthew 12:34)
Jesus fed the hungry. He praised a poor widow for giving all she had (Mark 12). He made sure His own widowed mother was cared for (John 19). His harshest words were for lawmakers who used God to justify cruelty:
“You whitewashed tombs… full of dead men’s bones.” (Matthew 23:27)
Feed the hungry. Honor the single parent. Welcome the child. Reverse this policy. Anything less is anti-biblical!
