Strip Sections 219 and 1217 from the final NDAA. These provisions would create a new US-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative, embedding Israeli-origin technology into US military systems across quantum computing, AI, autonomous weapons, and cyber warfare. This is not a partnership we should be deepening.
Over 50 rights groups, including Amnesty International USA, Jewish Voice for Peace, National Nurses United, and the Quincy Institute, wrote to the Armed Services committees this week making exactly this case. They're right. Israel has used US-supplied weapons to kill Palestinian civilians, with over 73,000 dead in Gaza. US law already requires suspending military aid under these circumstances, and we can't even enforce that. Locking our defense systems to Israeli technology would make disentangling the relationship nearly impossible and hand Israel new leverage over US military infrastructure. Vote no on any conference report that includes these provisions.
