We need bold, visionary leadership to stand up to the fascist authoritarian takeover of our government. For 40 days it seemed like you had the strength of will to deliver that kind of leadership, and it was refreshing after so many days of pointless hand-wringing and “strongly worded letters.” Now you either allowed or encouraged eight idiots within your caucus to step out of line and give it all away for less than nothing. You gained nothing, accomplished nothing, and left the American people defenseless. I will look for any primary candidate I can find to support against you, and I’ll encourage anyone who will listen to do the same. You have failed this moment. We simply can’t afford your brand of feckless, milquetoast non-leadership any longer. You should resign as speaker and make way for someone, anyone who seems to actually grasp the stakes and the kind of action they demand.
