California stands with trans athletes

I am profoundly disappointed in your recent statements regarding trans athletes in the state of California. Forcing trans athletes to compete in a separate category is scientifically unfounded, deeply dehumanizing, and illegal in the state of California. Moreover, instating a “separate but equal” policy and using discriminatory language like “biologically male” at the state level sets a dangerous exclusionary precedent. Our representatives already voted down a trans sports bill (AB 89) and it should be clear that the citizens of California support trans athletes. I am deeply disappointed that California is the first blue state to capitulate to bigotry by enacting a trans sports ban. I am disgusted that you are giving in to the hatred spewed by President Trump. Take a stand for what is right. Take a stand for your citizens. Take a stand for the future that California represents. Immediately withdraw this discriminatory, hateful policy and make it clear that California will not compromise on human rights.
