Abortion access and care is a human right. Overturning Roe/Casey, and restricting abortion on a state-by-state level, is both dangerous and cruel.
All people should have autonomy over their own body and decisions made regarding one’s health should remain between that person and their physician. Abortion is healthcare because the fetus is wholly dependent on its mother until birth. The fetus does not exist without the well being and permission of a woman. The woman should have the right to end a pregnancy.
This is never an easy decision for women and their loved ones. It’s traumatic and tragic. I know firsthand, but sometimes the alternative (ie having an unwanted pregnancy) it worse for the woman, her family, and society.
You personally have a right to believe abortion is immoral. You have the choice to advocate for other solutions to an unwanted pregnancy. I will disagree but not judge you for that belief. However, you do not have the right to control the bodies and decisions of women, particularly when those decisions have no impact on persons other than that women.
I do judge people who try to impose their own beliefs and will on to others, which is exactly what the GOP has done in the case of abortion. This fight over abortion is wrong and will harm tens of thousands of women as well as their children, families, and communities. Women will die. This will mostly impact poor women and those who already have little access to health care. You will own their suffering.
