Stand Up for the Constitution

At what point, if any, do you intend to stand up and speak out against Trump’s wildly illegal, despotic, and utterly un-American actions as dictator?   I know you all have been AWOL from your jobs, catching a nice vacay while the Republic crumbles, so let me catch you up.   1.     Dear Leader has demolished the East Wing of the White House, without the required studies and permissions, just so he can build his own Hall of Mirrors. Yes, White House staff have been wanting an event area for some time. But no one except King Donald wanted a 90,000-square foot, gold-drenched obscenity built with bribes from this country’s boot-licking oligarchs. It’s the people’s house, not his. This whole thing is disgusting. 2.     Dear Leader is sending a carrier strike force to Venezuela for God knows what reason, after gleefully bombing nine – as of this writing; that number could increase at any minute – small boats that a Coast Guard cutter could stop. The king says they were drug boats, but how do we know? Where’s the evidence? The proof? The due process? It doesn’t exist. This is murder. And now we’re sending a carrier strike force to … do what, exactly? Take by force the Nobel Peace Price awarded to Maria Corina Machado and give it to Dear Leader? Take their oil? Start a war in Latin America just for funsies? He’s also said he doesn’t need a declaration of war, that his administration can just kill people as he wishes. Death by the will of a tyrant. 3.     Some unnamed “friend” of his is reportedly handing over $130 million to “fund” the military. Since when is the U.S. military privately funded? That’s the job of the U.S. Congress (that would be you) and U.S. taxpayers. It is OUR military, the people’s military, not some oligarch’s private army. Does this not cause you *any* concern? 4.     Healthcare premiums are going to explode if the improved subsidies are not renewed. That means almost 4 million Texans will see their health care costs balloon by an estimated 31 percent. These are your constituents. 5.     ICE thugs are roaming our streets, zip-tying children, kidnapping immigrants and American citizens alike, spraying protesters with tear-gas, and generally terrorizing people just trying to go about their lives. And now the National Guard is occupying American cities. Disgraceful.   And all that’s just off the top of my head. You’re fiddling around while King Donald burns down the Republic. Meanwhile, your constituents are suffering. Prices haven’t gone down, government employees are going unpaid, immigrants are being hunted by armed and masked marauders, and apparently we’re about to go to war with Venezuela. You need to put a stop to this. Or at least stand up against it. Stand up against Trump, and stand up for the Constitution.   Do your damned job.
