Call for Emergency Ban of Tear Gas in DC

Call for an emergency ban on the use of tear gas in DC. DC MPD is running low on tear gas, because they’ve used so much over the past few months. Despite performative displays of support for Black lives and the protest movement, DC just bought $130,000 more of it. The UN Chemical Weapons Convention prohibits using this chemical in war, but when the US adopted that treaty, they made an exception for its use by police. As a DC resident and American citizen, I call for an emergency ban on tear gas use in DC. Please stand on the right side of history during this time.
