Investigate Trump’s Monetization of Presidential Influence

As a constituent, I urge you to support an immediate impeachment inquiry into whether President Donald Trump is using the market-moving influence of his office for private financial benefit. PRESIDENTIAL INFLUENCE MUST NOT BECOME A PAID TRADING ADVANTAGE Trump Media & Technology Group has launched Truth API, a paid service offering rapid, machine-readable delivery of influential Truth Social posts, including posts by President Trump. News reports say the company discussed prices as high as $100,000 a month. Trump Media says posts are released publicly at the same time they enter the paid feed. Even so, delivery in milliseconds may let automated trading systems react before retirees and individual investors can see or process the same information. A retiree checking public news on a phone cannot compete with a trading system that receives and analyzes a presidential statement almost instantly. PRESIDENTIAL INFLUENCE GIVES THE PRODUCT ITS SPECIAL VALUE Not every Truth Social post is a formal government communication. Yet the service’s special value comes from President Trump’s ability to announce or signal decisions involving tariffs, military action, energy policy, federal contracts, and individual companies. An April 2026 Trump Media filing states that the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust owned 114.75 million shares, about 41% of the company. A separate filing identifies President Trump as the person who created the trust and as its sole beneficiary. Congress should determine whether he authorized or promoted Truth API and whether its revenues or increased value benefit him. THIS MAY BE AN ABUSE OF PUBLIC OFFICE The issue is not merely whether faster market data is legal. It is whether the President is using the authority, visibility, and market-moving influence of his office to create private value for a company in which he has a substantial beneficial interest. Impeachment does not require a criminal conviction. It protects the country from serious abuses of office and betrayals of the public trust. No President should be permitted to turn the influence of the presidency into a premium financial product for wealthy trading firms. I urge you to take the following actions: (1) OPEN AN INQUIRY. Support an immediate House impeachment inquiry and, if it confirms that President Trump used presidential influence for private financial gain, support articles of impeachment. (2) SECURE EVIDENCE. Obtain the contracts, pricing records, customer lists, ownership records, internal communications, and technical delivery data connected with Truth API. (3) PROTECT INVESTORS. Support disclosure and conflict-of-interest safeguards preventing any President from profiting from premium high-speed delivery of market-moving presidential statements. Thank you.
