Stop the Destruction of Our National Forests and Wildlife Protections!

I am deeply alarmed by the Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production executive order, which calls for the decimation of 280 million acres of our national forests—an unprecedented attack on our public lands, wildlife, and communities. Even more disturbing is the fact that Trump has directed the circumvention of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) using unspecified "emergency powers" to ignore critical habitat protections for vulnerable species. This reckless order would: - Destroy irreplaceable habitat for imperiled species, including grizzly bears, wolverines, spotted owls, and wild salmon. - Pollute vital waterways that local communities depend on for drinking water and agriculture. - Further weaken the ESA, continuing Trump’s pattern of prioritizing corporate interests over environmental protections—including his expansion of fossil fuel extraction and rollback of protections for migratory birds. This is absolutely unacceptable. These are our public lands—they belong to all Americans, not to corporate interests seeking short-term profit at the expense of future generations. I urge you to: 1. Publicly oppose this executive order and any attempts to weaken the ESA. 2. Introduce or support legislation that protects our forests, waters, and endangered species from reckless exploitation. 3. Encourage your colleagues to stand against this unprecedented environmental destruction. Congress must act before it is too late. Our forests, wildlife, and natural heritage cannot defend themselves—we must do it for them.
