I just saw that the President is now concerned about so many Americans not having health insurance and that the only legislation he will support must only make direct payments. I have great news for you. No need to design additional legislation. It is already in front of Congress. It is H.R 3069, the vastly improved, incredibly well designed Medicare for All Act. It makes direct payments to providers, not taxpayers. It saves Americans $750 billion every year, covers all of us, no copays and deductibles and will make American business more competitive by lowering the amount spent on healthcare.
P.S. Health insurance that covers all of us, a public trust paying private providers, has a 2% overhead versus the commercial 12% - 20% overhead is what 62% of Americans want.
Let me repeat that, 62% in favor. Get on it.
