Reject Nomination/Vote NO on Whitney Hermandorfer for Sixth Circuit Court

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to reject and Vote NO on the nomination of Whitney Hermandorfer to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Her record demonstrates active hostility towards reproductive rights, LGBTQ equality, and the rights of immigrants. As a federal judge serving a lifetime appointment, she would be in a powerful position to undermine civil and human rights that millions rely on. In just one example of her record: Hermandorder’s office supported Trump’s racist and anti-constitutional order to ignore the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause for children born on U.S. soil to undocumented parents This runs counter to 150-plus years of settled understanding to the contrary. She’s also a willing participant in Trump’s attacks on independent agencies.  In short, will she be fair and just? I don’t think so. This Trump nomination continues an alarming trend of judicial nominees who have actively worked against civil rights and equality. Federal judges must uphold the rule of law and protect the rights enshrined in the Constitution, not advance partisan ideological agendas. Ms. Hermandorfer's background as a member of the fringe Heritage Society also raises serious doubts about her ability to be a fair and impartial jurist who will safeguard the civil liberties of all Americans. At a time when our judiciary is increasingly being reshaped to align with an extremist agenda, it is crucial that nominees demonstrate an unwavering commitment to equal justice under the law. I urge you to carefully scrutinize this nomination during the hearings and reject any candidate who fails to meet the highest ethical standards and protect the civil and constitutional rights of all people. The integrity of our courts and the promise of equal justice depend on confirming fair-minded, well-qualified judges devoted to upholding our nation's civil rights laws and values. However, I’ve read enough on Hermandorfer. Reject her nomination and Vote NO. Thank you.
