With Trump’s recent freeze on foreign aid, it is essential that Congress reassert its right and control of legislative funding as outlined in the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. If Congress fails to uphold its own power to allocate funds where it feels is appropriate, the administration will continue to assume more power over Congress. More importantly, the loss of foreign aid provided by America will be an act then filled by China, reducing the USA’s influence and power worldwide. Trump’s actions are unconstitutional, and must be challenged immediately.
