I am writing to you about Alireza Doroudi, the student arrested by ICE for exercising her right to free speech, along with Mahmoud Khalil. These students were arrested for peacefully expressing their opinions, and i can only wonder what is next. It may have been a few years since you have read 1984 by George Orwell, so i urge you to brush up on your reading so that you can see EXACTLY where this administration is headed. It may be starting with immigrants, but i assure you that native born Americans are next in line to be arrested for practicing free speech. The discrimination will always expand until there is no one left to fight for our freedom, i am urging you today to DO something about this. The silence is deafening. Why do you stand by as our rights are being chipped away. This is the reason the democratic party is losing voters, you need to fight back, to actually listen to your constituents, and to follow the leaders like Bernie Sanders who is actually putting in the work. Protect our rights to free speech, not just for people who you agree with, but for all people, regardless of their citizenship status!
