This is a critical moment. The foundations of our democracy are being corroded in real time—and your silence, hesitation, or selective outrage will be remembered.
For years, politicians have claimed that “other countries hate us for our freedoms.” Yet now, many of those same leaders are enabling or tolerating the very acts that betray those freedoms. This is not a policy debate—it is a matter of constitutional integrity and national survival.
Allowing or aiding in:
• The deportation of legal residents,
• The dismantling of social programs that protect the vulnerable,
• Tax cuts that enrich the elite while starving the public,
• Attacks on civil liberties and equal rights,
• Collaboration with and funding of oppressive, anti-democratic regimes—
These are not neutral positions. These are betrayals. Acts like these tear at the soul of our republic and aid the rise of authoritarianism. And make no mistake: those who exploit these openings do not stop—they spread.
You cannot cherry-pick your resistance. You cannot oppose book bans but excuse attacks on reproductive freedom. You cannot decry state surveillance but ignore the erosion of voting rights. The defense of freedom cannot be conditional. It must be complete, courageous, and uncompromising.
To try to “both-sides” the dismantling of democracy is to surrender to it. To equivocate is to empower those who seek to dominate. This is an all-or-nothing fight for the soul of our country and the future of everyone in it.
You took an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. That duty is not theoretical—it is now.
We are watching. We are voting. And we will remember who stood firmly on the side of liberty, and who let the rot take hold.
