Demand Action to Return Kilmar Abrego Garcia and Defend the Rule of Law

I am writing as your constituent to urge your immediate action concerning the unlawful deportation and continued imprisonment of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident who remains detained in El Salvador despite a federal court order requiring his return to the United States.
Mr. Abrego Garcia, a lawful worker and apprentice pursuing his journeyman license, was forcibly removed from this country in direct violation of a standing judicial order. Even the administration responsible for this illegal deportation has conceded it was a mistake — yet now claims powerlessness to rectify it. This is not merely a bureaucratic failure. It is a dangerous defiance of our courts, our Constitution, and the rule of law itself.
I am deeply alarmed by the administration’s refusal to comply with judicial directives and its open disregard for the authority of the judiciary. This is not a procedural error — it is an active escalation. If the Executive Branch can unilaterally exile lawful residents, in defiance of court orders, with no recourse for their return, then the very foundation of our republic is under threat.
The case of Mr. Abrego Garcia is not isolated. It is a test of whether constitutional protections will hold against executive overreach. If we allow this injustice to stand, it sets a chilling precedent: that any lawful resident, or even any citizen, could be similarly targeted and "disappeared" beyond the reach of American law.
I urge you to do the following without delay:
1. Demand the immediate return of Mr. Abrego Garcia in accordance with the court’s order.
2. Hold accountable the officials responsible for this violation of judicial authority.
3. Support legislative and oversight actions to ensure that no administration can circumvent the judiciary to exile individuals from this country.
In moments like this, our representatives must act decisively to uphold the rule of law and prevent executive power from slipping into tyranny. Silence is complicity. The constitutional crisis unfolding before us requires courage and clarity from every branch of government.
I respectfully ask you to stand on the side of justice, of law, and of the rights of every person protected by them.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your reply.
