Trump Pardons Friends, Punishes Enemies—It Must Stop!

Since President Trump’s inauguration in 2025, he has taken actions that directly undermine law and order. He has intervened to protect criminals who align with him while punishing those who oppose him. Among the most egregious are his efforts to bring accused human traffickers Andrew and Tristan Tate to the U.S. and his mass pardons of violent January 6 insurrectionists. Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Romania in late 2022 on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group. Romanian authorities seized their assets and placed them under strict travel restrictions while their trial was pending. Despite the severity of their alleged crimes, Trump’s administration applied diplomatic pressure on Romania to allow the brothers to relocate to Florida, where they now reside freely. This move, which aligns with Trump’s past pattern of disregarding violence against women, has sparked outrage among human rights organizations. (Source: Vox, March 2025) Trump also pardoned some of the most violent January 6 rioters, including Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, who was convicted of seditious conspiracy for orchestrating the attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison before Trump’s clemency order nullified it. Enrique Tarrio, leader of the Proud Boys, also convicted of seditious conspiracy and sentenced to 22 years, was among those pardoned. Other pardoned individuals include Robert Palmer, who was sentenced to more than five years for repeatedly assaulting law enforcement officers with a wooden plank, a fire extinguisher, and a metal pole, and Richard Barnett, who was sentenced to four and a half years after breaking into Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office and leaving a threatening note. (Source: Al Jazeera, January 2025) Trump’s actions show a disturbing pattern—he is not supporting law and order, but instead protecting criminals who serve his interests. He has made it clear that violent extremists, human traffickers, and insurrectionists will be given free rein under his leadership while those who challenge him face prosecution. We must demand accountability. Our laws cannot be weaponized to serve the personal interests of a single man. I urge you to take immediate action to prevent further abuses of power.
