Please do not sue our own senate because your nominee for Chief Judge was rejected by the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is imperative that Democrats come together after this vote and that we follow the process. It is also highly unlikely that even if you attempt to pursue legal action against the senate LaSalle will be approved. 25 state senators have said publicly that they will not vote to confirm LaSalle (only 3 have said they will). This means that you would need to persuade at least 29 of the remaining 35 senators. A lawsuit against the senate will certainly not help that effort! (City & State,10/20/23). MOVE ON PLEASE. We need another list for Chief Judges immediately, we need to work on your/our agenda “affordable housing, mental health, and public safety.” We elected you to get the peoples to work done, not to engage in divisive legal battles with the senate we also elected.
