I am your constituent and I am concerned about healthcare. I was also shocked to learn that according to the NY Times, prescription claims denials rose more than 22%. I am also appalled that the new budget that passed will take away health insurance from at least 13 million Americans. You may not be aware but income tax on social security benefits are paid back to Social Security and Medicare trust funds. By not collecting taxes on 22% of Social Security recipients benefits for 4 years billions of dollars will not be collected. Additionally, the tax benefits given to corporations and the wealthy will make sure the government does not have enough money in 2027. That will force, by law, across the board cuts of 4%. That includes Medicare cuts. So now healthcare will be denied to seniors.
Look, Universal healthcare, like H.R. 3069/S. 1506 will save, according to the 2020 Congressional Budget Office, $400 billion yearly in excess overhead and $200 billion in prescription costs. In 2025 dollars that’s $500 billion in overhead and $250 billion for prescriptions. Enact Universal Healthcare if you’re so concerned about the budget. P.S. 62% of your constituents want you to do that (Gallup).
