Stop Trump’s Unconstitutional Police State Executive Order
Donald Trump’s April 28, 2025 Executive Order titled “Strengthening and Unleashing America’s Law Enforcement” is a direct threat to the Constitution, civil rights, and public safety.
This order is not about law and order — it’s about authoritarian control.
It violates:
• The 10th Amendment by threatening to prosecute state and local officials for adopting community-led policing reforms.
• The 1st Amendment by punishing speech and policies supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• The 14th Amendment by targeting lawful efforts to remedy systemic inequality under the guise of fighting “DEI.”
• The Posse Comitatus Act by militarizing local police with Department of Defense assets and training — blurring the line between civilian law enforcement and the military.
• Separation of powers by instructing the DOJ to override court-enforced consent decrees with police departments found guilty of civil rights abuses.
• Due process and equal protection by authorizing vague, sweeping federal retaliation against local leaders and programs the administration disagrees with.
This is a blueprint for a federalized police state and a return to abusive, unaccountable policing — especially targeting communities of color, civil rights activists, and anyone who dares dissent.
I urge you to:
• Publicly condemn this Executive Order.
• Demand congressional oversight hearings immediately.
• Introduce legislation to reinforce local authority, protect civil rights, and block the misuse of military resources against civilians.
• Call on the Department of Justice to reject this unlawful overreach and protect judicial independence.
History will remember who stood up — or stayed silent — in the face of creeping authoritarianism. Stand up now.
