Principled U.S. policy towards Ukraine needed to counter Russian aggression

The obstructionist and bullying tactics employed by President Trump and Vice President Vance against the democratically-elected leader of Ukraine as it battles Russian aggression are reprehensible. Their attempts to strong-arm President Zelenskyy into accepting an exploitative resource deal that benefits American corporate interests over Ukrainian sovereignty are a dereliction of moral leadership. This overtly hostile approach humiliates America on the world stage, undermines efforts towards a just peace, and provides fodder for Putin's depravity. Accountability must be demanded, and an ethical course reversal implemented to stand in genuine solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they courageously defend their democracy and self-determination.
