An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Oppose dismantling critical Department of Education, protect students

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Department of Education plays a critical role in ensuring equal access to education and protecting the rights of students across the nation. Dismantling it would jeopardize federal funding for public schools, support for students with disabilities, enforcement of civil rights protections, and student loan and workforce development programs. These cuts would disproportionately impact vulnerable populations and undermine efforts to provide quality education for all. I urge you to vigorously oppose H.R. 899 and any executive action aimed at eliminating the Department of Education. Its programs and oversight are vital for maintaining educational standards, safeguarding student interests, and promoting opportunity. This blatant executive overreach must be challenged to uphold the principles of accessible and equitable education enshrined in our nation's values. Congress must take a firm stand against any attempts to dismantle this essential agency and the protections it provides for students.
