An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop reckless air traffic controller firings

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The mass firing of air traffic controllers and other federal employees by Elon Musk's DOGE agency is extremely concerning and threatens the safety of air travel as well as critical government functions. These dedicated public servants play vital roles that cannot simply be dismissed without cause. While staffing decisions should account for operational needs, indiscriminate terminations pose unacceptable risks. I urge you to intervene and stop Elon Musk from arbitrarily firing federal employees, which needlessly jeopardizes public safety, national security, and effective governance. Experienced personnel and institutional knowledge are essential for smooth operations that protect the general welfare. The recent spike in plane crashes underscores the importance of a well-staffed and properly trained federal workforce across all agencies. Please prioritize responsible management of the civil service over arbitrary workforce reductions.
