An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Hold National Park Police Accountable For First Amendment Violations

12 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

National Park Police tore down the FLARE and Veterans protest encampments at Union Station in the middle of the night. The protest was permitted, peaceful, and protected under the First Amendment. This was a clear abuse of power and an attempt to silence lawful protest. I'm asking you to: 1. Publicly condemn the overnight raid, and 2. Demand immediate oversight of the National Park Service and U.S. Park Police, including: - Why the raid happened at night - Why a permitted protest was targeted - What steps will be taken to prevent further violations of constitutional rights This matters to me because no agency should be able to dismantle a legal protest in the dark and without accountability. If they can violate veterans' and organizers' rights, they can violate anyone's. Thank you for your time and I expect your office to speak up on this.
