Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
In a myriad of cringe-worthy performances by your party, the recent questioning of General Milley has surely reached a new personal best.
I thought y’all were convened to talk about what went right and wrong in Afghanistan? All I witnessed was a personal character assassination. A character assassination of a person the GOP was once a fan of…a highly decorated, personally courageous, Conservative defender of America.
It was a shameful spectacle. And designed to achieve as many inane, righteously indignant, and utterly offensive sound bites as possible.
General Milley is obviously the kind of leader that keeps America great. The kind of human that we should all attempt to emulate. And the type of citizen that we should hope would choose a life of service to country.
The behavior your party exhibited in the hearings was anything but. You should all be embarrassed. And ashamed.
But that’ll be a cold day in hell.
“I have served this Nation for 42 years,” Milley wrote in his statement. “I’ve spent years in combat and buried a lot of my troops who died while defending this country. My loyalty to this Nation, its people, and the Constitution hasn’t changed and will never change as long as I have a breath to give. My loyalty is absolute.”
Give us more of him. Way less of you.
