Protect queer and trans Californians, sign the 2025 LGBTQ Caucus bills

I, like many California Democrats, believe that we have a responsibility to protect the health and safety of all members of our community and I want my politicians to reflect that belief. We are in a very frightening moment where the Trump administration is attacking LGBTQ+ and, in particular, transgender rights with alarming speed and violence. I want my politicians to stand up to these attacks and show us that they will defend their citizens no matter what. We beat authoritarianism and regressive right wing ideologies by standing together, not by capitulating and sacrificing minority groups. Especially in this moment, Democrats want politicians who will have a spine and will stand up to the Trump regime. You can take action right now to show Californians, and Democrats across the country, that you will not cave to violent, fascist demands. You can show us that you remain committed to protecting ALL California citizens. There are several bills on your desk right now that, when signed into law, will take vital steps to protect LGBTQ+ Californians. These bills include AB 554 The PrEPARE Act, AB 1084 The Transgender Records Act, SB 59 The Transgender Privacy Act, SB 418 Ensure Equal Access to Care for All, SB 497 Shield Law Expansion, and several other bills sponsored or endorsed by the 2025 LGBTQ Caucus. These bills are common sense actions that will protect LGBTQ+ lives, privacy, dignity, safety, and access to medical care. I urge you to sign them into law and show us that you are the Gavin Newsom we helped elect: the bold ally who stands up for the LGBTQ+ community and fights back against regressive ideology.
