I’m writing regarding the SBIR/STTR program, whose renewal is currently stalled out in the Senate. The SBIR program is the nation’s most successful economic development program. It funds risky innovations and regular VCs won’t touch, which end up improving people’s lives and enriching our economy. Our nation’s innovation engine isn’t critically threatened by the senate’s inability to renew the SBIR program. Please work to save this essential economic and innovation development jewel. Every week that it is not renewed hurts existing projects, stifles innovation, and directly hurts your constituents.
