I am deeply concerned by Congressman Kean’s silence regarding expanding ICE operations in New Jersey. Local officials and residents in Roxbury have repeatedly sought federal advocacy, yet reported that their representative “did not engage to the level we had hoped.” Instead of speaking clearly about the impact of ICE facilities on our communities, Congressman Kean has offered little public leadership. New Jersey residents deserve transparency and accountability from their elected officials. Silence on an issue of such consequence leaves constituents unheard and unprotected. Congressman Kean must publicly address ICE operations and stand with the communities he was elected to represent.
