Defend America’s Future By Backing Clean Energy Projects

Confront The Attack On Clean Energy Now
In recent weeks, federal agencies have reversed course on clean power.
The United States Department of Transportation canceled $679 million for offshore wind projects. The United States Department of Energy withdrew a $716 million loan guarantee for a New Jersey project. The United States Department of the Interior stopped work on Revolution Wind—a large offshore wind farm—off Connecticut and Rhode Island.
These actions threaten grid reliability, raise bills, and pull paychecks from American workers. They also signal to the world that the U.S. may abandon leadership in clean energy, leaving China and others to dominate.
Highlight The Stakes For Families
Revolution Wind is over 80 percent complete. It was set to power 350,000 homes and employ more than 1,000 union workers.
Halting it strands billions already invested and removes affordable capacity at the very moment electricity demand is spiking. Families are already struggling with higher costs. Electricity prices rose nearly 10 percent earlier this year and are projected to climb further.
Strengthen America’s Energy Leadership
Clean energy now employs about 3.4 million Americans and is growing faster than the overall labor market. By contrast, coal employment has collapsed to fewer than 40,000 workers.
Independent studies show new wind and solar are among the cheapest power sources. Yet President Donald Trump calls renewables a “hoax” or “too expensive.” These false claims weaken U.S. credibility and discourage investment. If Congress fails to act, foreign rivals will seize the advantage, drawing investment away and leaving American families with higher bills.
Take Congressional Action Without Delay
• Hold oversight hearings on these cancellations and require fact-based justifications.
• Prohibit retroactive cancellations of fully permitted projects.
• Restore and stabilize clean-energy tax credits and domestic-content incentives.
• Accelerate transmission upgrades to meet fast-growing demand.
• Require transparent cost and reliability analyses before halting projects.
Put American Workers And Consumers First
These steps are pro-worker, pro-business, and pro-American. Every turbine wired and every solar panel installed represents wages, healthcare, and pensions.
Every canceled project sends jobs abroad, raises costs, and undermines energy independence. The strength of our middle class, our competitiveness, and our democracy depend on the choices made now.
American workers, small businesses, and families need reliable, affordable electricity. Please act immediately to reverse these decisions and defend a pro-worker, pro-growth clean energy future.
