Stand Up Against Presidential Overreach and the Illegal Federal Funding Freeze

I am writing to you today because I remain concerned about Trump and Elon Musk’s illegal and unconstitutional federal funding freeze. While several judges have now issued restraining orders, it's painfully clear that the President, Elon Musk, and other loyalists are using loopholes and intentionally vague readings of the judges’ orders in order to continue freezing Congressionally-appropriated federal funds. These drastic, unprecedented, and unconstitutional efforts throw our nation further into chaos while harming some of the most marginalized members of our communities. Veterans. School children. Teachers. The elderly. Farmers. Those who rely on federal healthcare programs to survive. These and so many others continue to bear the brunt of this disastrous freeze. Because this threat from the White House persists, I ask that you not only continue to publicly call out these illegal actions, but that you flood the zone with relevant legislation, communications across all platforms, and commit to doubling down on working with outside advocacy groups to pursue lawsuits and redress through the courts. We cannot afford uncertainty around federal funding, nor can we accept attempts to hold the American people hostage through unconstitutional executive orders. Stand up against this overwhelming presidential overreach and be the advocate we need.
