An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Urgent: Protect Our Fed Govt & Military from Political Purge

16 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The recent firings of top military officials, including General Charles Q. Brown Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, are deeply troubling and suggest a dangerous politicization of our armed forces. This unprecedented purge undermines the apolitical nature of the military and raises serious concerns about the erosion of democratic norms. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s justification for these dismissals, citing a need for leaders aligned with the administration’s agenda, further indicates an alarming shift towards authoritarianism. Such actions not only destabilize the established military command structure but also pose a direct threat to the foundational principles of our democracy. The removal of experienced leaders in favor of loyalists compromises national security and reflects tactics reminiscent of autocratic regimes. It is imperative that our elected representatives, regardless of party affiliation, take immediate and decisive action to uphold the Constitution and protect the integrity of our democratic institutions before irreversible damage is done.
