Enforce limitations on presidential powers

I am writing to you as a constituent and citizen, to beg that you help enforce the limitations on presidential power. The democracy upon which America built its foundation was designed to prevent one man from acting as king. Yet, this requires those involved in the system to be active participants, rather than watching as an individual does what they please, ignoring the checks and balances in his way. The current administration is using executive orders, a power designed for urgent matters, to direct blatantly unconstitutional actions. What are you doing to hold the president to his position rather than turning himself into a king? What are you doing to prove to your constituents that you are not ignoring your responsibilities and allowing him to take away their rights and benefits? As the former vice president Mike Pence wrote: "The president is not our teacher, our tutor, our guide or ruler. He does not command us; we command him. We serve neither him nor his vision. It is not his job or his prerogative to redefine custom, law, and beliefs; to appropriate industries; to seize the country, as it were, by the shoulders or by the throat so as to impose by force of theatrical charisma his justice upon 300 million others. It is neither his job nor his prerogative to shift the power of decision away from them, and to him and the acolytes of his choosing." Please mind these words, and consider the current actions of Trump and Musk. Trump has been retaliatory, imposing his justice upon those he considers to have slighted him. He is redefining law, he is acting as a ruler, and that must be stopped. While there are people fighting in the courts, I ask you to fight in Congress. I ask you to ensure that America does not lose its democratic foundation. I ask you to prove to your constituents that you're stopping those slashing the government into pieces. I ask you to protect those departments that are being lost, the jobs that are being lost, and the grants that are being cancelled, all illegally. I ask you to show that you deserve your role. I look forward to hearing back on how you are keeping the president from overreaching and overpowering the government illegally. Sincerely,
