President Trump's cabinet nominees are alarmingly unfit and pose grave risks to our nation's democratic institutions and the wellbeing of the American people. Many lack the necessary qualifications and experience for the roles they have been tapped for, and most disturbingly, many are openly hostile to the very agencies and mandates they would ostensibly lead. From climate change deniers at the EPA and Department of Energy, to anti-immigrant hardliners at Homeland Security, to conspiracy theorists at the CIA – Trump has prioritized partisan loyalty over competence and the public good. This outright contempt for the duties and responsibilities of public service is an affront to democratic governance. I urge you to exercise due diligence and oppose the confirmation of nominees like Pam Bondi, John Ratcliffe, Kristi Noem, Sean Duffy, Chris Wright, Russell Vought, Lee Zeldin, Linda McMahon, and Elise Stefanik, whose appointments would endanger the national interest and democratic norms. A failure to scrutinize and reject these destructive nominations would be an abdication of the Senate's constitutional "advice and consent" responsibility. Please stand firm against these reckless appointments that undermine the integrity of our federal government.
