Reject unqualified Hegseth nomination for Defense Secretary role

Pete Hegseth's nomination as US Secretary of Defense is deeply concerning due to his lack of requisite experience, concerning past behavior, and controversial views regarding women in combat roles that are at odds with current military realities. Hegseth's admissions of infidelity raise questions about his judgment and moral character, qualities essential for leading our armed forces with integrity. Furthermore, his dismissive stance on women's combat roles is an outdated perspective that undermines nearly two decades of progress in integrating female service members into all military roles for which they meet rigorous standards. In this precarious global security environment, we urgently need a Secretary of Defense with unimpeachable ethics, proven leadership abilities managing large organizations, and an understanding of the modern military's demographics and realities. Hegseth does not appear to meet these vital criteria. I urge you to reject his nomination based on these significant deficiencies and instead support a qualified nominee who can properly lead the Department of Defense at this critical juncture.
