Prosecute Kristi Noem for Perjury Before Congress

The Department of Justice must prosecute Kristi Noem for perjury and making false statements to Congress. Rep. Jamie Raskin and Sen. Dick Durbin have already referred her case to DOJ with evidence of criminal violations during her recent congressional testimony. Noem lied under oath about the $220 million ad campaign that featured her prominently. She told Congress the contract went through a competitive bid process and that career officials chose the contractor. Sen. John Kennedy's research proved this was false. The money went to a company run by Benjamin Yoho, whose wife was Noem's DHS spokesperson. No competitive bidding occurred. This is taxpayer money funneled to political allies through fraud. Making false statements to Congress carries up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The evidence is clear and the statute of limitations runs five years. Noem used her position to enrich connected insiders, then lied to cover it up. Prosecute her to the full extent of the law and send a message that no official is above accountability to Congress.
