Cancel wasteful military parade, honor Army through other means

The planned military parade, scheduled for June 14th to coincide with the Army's 250th anniversary and President Trump's birthday, is an egregious waste of taxpayer money and should be cancelled immediately. It is a slap in the face to all citizens suffering from cuts to vital government programs and services under the Department of Government Efficiency's austerity measures. Despite the purported intent to honor the Army's history, the excessive scale involving thousands of soldiers, vehicles, and aircraft at immense cost is an unacceptable misuse of public funds, especially at a time of widespread hardship due to indiscriminate spending reductions across the federal government.
