An open letter to the U.S. Congress

No ICE Concentration Camps in Florida!!!

5 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I am writing to commend the closing of the environmentally, financially, and ethically disastrous “Alligator Alcatraz” and to insist that there be NO MORE concentration camp-style ICE prisons built - or opened in repurposed buildings - ever again within the state of Florida!! Immigrants are what have always made our state great. With Alligator Alcatraz, Florida punished a vast majority of immigrants without any criminal records who broke - at most - civil laws comparable to traffic tickets. The vile messaging attempted to reduce our hardworking neighbors to faceless numbers! The cruelty of this will do damage across generations. Florida voters will not look kindly upon Congressmen and women who support cruelty. Young and old people alike have had medical emergencies ignored, been subjected to inhumane punishments including the “box”, left without proper toilets and showers, served inedible food, and deprived potable water. As a Florida voter, I say NEVER AGAIN!
