Only one day of isolation recommended for Covid‽

I am utterly gobsmacked. I probably shouldn't be, since we've had three years of this Covid Pandemic, and action has been appalling from all government authorities, and yet, I continue to be shocked by each misstep you all take in my name. The previous five day isolation period was too short. When we've thrown out masking mandates, we've done nothing to address the poor air circulation in many public buildings, and we're currently in the middle of a large case surge, we're reducing the officially recommended isolation time down to one day? Are you kidding me? Vaccination does not provide a lasting immunity, even if people were actually bothering to get their boosters in the first place (which they're not because the government messaging has lacked on that), with any degree of protection all but evaporating within six months of the last booster, and we're just going to recommend that mild cases just keep going about business as if nothing is wrong? Oh, yes, "wear a mask, avoid people who are high risk" if you test positive? A lot of people who are high risk aren't obvious by just looking at them, and it's obscenely ableist to shape policies in such a way that people either have to isolate themselves, or disclose their private medical information to the people around them, in order to be able to function in society. Also, let's talk about how reinfection raises one's chance of getting long covid. Each time you get it again, your chances of long term negative affects climb drastically. But we're just going to continue shaping policies in a way that encourages people to continue to spread this over and over again? We need longer isolation periods, we need strong masking guidelines, and while we're at it, we need universal healthcare in our state. Single payer statewide healthcare. Especially if you're going to continue to shape public policies in a way that's putting the whole population at greater and greater risk of long Covid with each re-infection.
