An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Protect Medical Research

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing to express my concern about recent disruptions to vital medical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the Trump Administration. The abrupt closure of NIH grant review panels and study sections is halting critical research and jeopardizing progress in American medicine, potentially delaying lifesaving treatments. These actions, combined with a hiring freeze, an indefinite travel ban, and the nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary advocating for NIH cuts, are harming the scientific community and could lead to a brain drain of top researchers abroad. I urge you to take action to reverse these damaging measures and protect the integrity of NIH’s work. Our country’s health and global scientific leadership are at risk.
