The Trump administration's plan to defund, degrade, and destroy our nation's public lands so they can sell them off for exploitation to private companies would be an environmental disaster for the United States.
So many of us use our public lands for recreation and relaxation. We love to hike and camp and enjoy the fresh air and scenery. WE THE PEOPLE own these lands.
US parks and lands generate significant economic revenue and support jobs through visitor spending. In 2023, national parks contributed a record $55.6 billion to the US economy and supported over 415,000 jobs. This revenue stems from various sources, including entrance fees, visitor spending in nearby communities, and private philanthropy.
I urge you to stop the sell-off and protect our public lands.
